Steven Montgomery has been a member of the Northern Ireland Civil Service since 2010 and has served in a wide range of posts across various Departments including Justice, Agriculture, Finance and Communities. He has a background in Computer Science and Internal Audit and joined the Muckamore Inquiry in October 2021.
Finola Friel has worked for a number of different client facing organisations since 2003. She has held numerous administrative and managerial roles during this period of time. She joined the NICS in June of 2021, working in an operational role within the Department for Communities before joining the Secretariat Team for the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry in February 2022.
Laura Boyd joined the MAHI in January 2023. She previously worked in DfC providing support in Permanent Secretary Team and Covid Recovery Team. Prior to this she worked in the private and voluntary sector, where she managed employee welfare, safeguarding and development and quality assurance in the early years sector.
Daniel McCarthy joined the NICS and the Secretariat Team for the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry in May 2022. Prior to joining the NICS he worked for a local building society, in a variety of roles specialising in mortgages and regulatory compliance.
Yvonne Worthington is currently working on the future inquiry into Mother & Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses (NI) but has been working with the Inquiry since Feb 2023 on a part time basis to gain experience of how a Public Inquiry works in practice. She has previously worked for the NI Courts and Tribunals Service for over 30 years and most recently worked in Coroner’s Service for NI and the Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Board.
Catherine–Anne Andrews joined the inquiry in February 2023 in an admin support role. Previous to the inquiry, she worked as a court clerk and admin support in the Legacy Inquest Unit from 2019–2023. She also worked in Employment and Support Allowance for ten years.
Claire Hylands previously worked in an operational role with the Department for Communities before joining the Secretariat Team for the Muckamore Abbey Hospital in February 2023.
David Rainey has been with the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry since March 2022, and acts in a security capacity on hearing days.
Robert Kelly has been with the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry since March 2022, and acts in a security capacity on hearing days.
